Congratulations to the members of Class XIII, who completed the five-session, industry-directed continuing education program on campus at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, IN, this past Monday.
On Saturday evening, Class XIII students, along with the incoming group of Class XIV participants, gathered for a reception, dinner and graduation ceremony.
AMOA President Russ Mawdsley and Notre Dame Committee Chairman Phil Juckem were on hand to present the 23 individual members of Class XIII with their completion certificates.
Virtually all of the individuals who have previously participated in the program will attest to the value of the program--both in terms of the formal education and informal networking that are core components of this initiative.

This weekend marks the beginning of one class and the end of another on campus at the University of Notre Dame.
Sessions for both Class XIV and Class XIII get underway this afternoon, with this being the first of five weekend sessions for the members of the new Class XIV, and the final gathering for participants of Class XIII.
A dinner and graduation ceremony is set for tomorrow evening for Class XIII students, with the "newbies" also invited to attend the event.
More details on this weekend's program of the industry's premier continuing education program will be included in next week's Off-The-Top Report.
Congratulations to the members of Class XIII for completing the program, and welcome to the first-timers of Class XIV!

If your company doesn't have one, it certainly should be! Firms that don't have a presence on the Internet are missing a golden opportunity to spread the word about who it is and what it does.
And, now, there is no excuse NOT to have one. For just $50, your company can have a working website created in a matter of days by tapping into one of AMOA's newest and most promising member benefit programs.
No special skills are required, no additional staff is needed, no frequent oversight is necessary. Only a minimal amount of information about your company is needed to get started, and we'll even help you put that together, too. Besides the $50 development fee, the only other cost is a $100 annual renewal/maintenance fee to be effective on the first anniversary date of your website "going live." That's it.
AMOA is working with Past President Jim Pietrangelo and his company to offer this exclusive new service.
Check out a couple of member sites that have been recently developed:
Amuse-O-Matic
Hogin Amusement Company
Metro Distributors
Nebraska Technical Services
Power to The Games
Preferred Amusements
Williamson Music

One of the association's--and the coin-op industry's-- staunchest advocates, Mike Leonard of Coin-Op Specialists, Inc., Adrian, MI, completed his term on the AMOA Board at the conclusion of this year's Expo.
Mike, who served as AMOA President in 2001-02, had a long, distinguished track record within the association's leadership--a tenure as an officer and director that spanned more than 25 years.
Mike was/is most passionate about the jukebox, which was reflected in his exemplary efforts as a member of the Jukebox Licensing Sub-Committee. He also served as AMOA's long-time liaison on the NANI technology project, and spearheaded the creation of the AMOA Innovator Awards program.
Perhaps Mike's defining moment was leading up to and during the 2001 AMOA Expo, when he took over the top spot at AMOA in the immediate aftermath of the September 11, 2001 attacks. He was the epitomy of "cool, calm and collected" during a very tense time in the association's, and nation's, history.
Off-the-Top offers a sincere thank you to Mike for all of his efforts on behalf of AMOA and our business. We hope he will continue to stay active on issues affecting the association and the industry.

Back for an encore this year, the Dunk Tank was another "grass roots" effort at Expo, with more than 200 individuals plunking down $5 to take aim at a handful of individuals who volunteered to sit atop the tank of H20 to support Coin-Op Cares.
This year's dunkees included: AMOA President Lloyd Williamson, First Vice President Russ Mawdsley, Past President Chris Warren, AMOA VPs Gaines Butler and Britain White, Betson's Rick Kirby, Vending Times' Nick Montano, Incredible Technologies' Don Grivetti, Valley-Dynamo's Chris Brady, and AMOA staffer Lori Schneider.
Thanks to all for being such "good sports" and for helping raise funds for AMOA's Coin-Op Cares Foundation.
