Programs & Services
AMOA offers a wide variety of programs, services and benefits to its members. These range from informational and educational programs to discounts on business services to establishing standards within the industry and more. See Membership Benefits for detailed information.
One of the most important programs is the AMOA partnership with the Jukebox License Office. Under this agreement, crafted in 2000, AMOA members receive significant discounts on their jukebox licenses for legal access to the combined musical works of ASCAP, BMI and SESAC. To qualify for these discounts, businesses must be a current paid member of AMOA and must apply for their JLO licenses by the March 15 deadline each year.
The AMOA/National Dart Association works to promote professionally run dart leagues and tournament play throughout the U.S. and internationally through a variety of member owner/operator driven programs. These include player sanctioning, standardized rules and regulations, and the sponsorship of two international tournaments held annually. To become a member of NDA, a company must first be a member of AMOA. (Visit www.ndadarts.com for information.)
Our alliance with the American Amusement Machine Association (AAMA) has led to several joint programs.
- The Coin-Operated Video Game Parental Advisory System, created in close consultation with Members of Congress and civic organizations, establishes easily recognized, color-coded ratings and provides information regarding these ratings to parents through posters, rating stickers and brochures. In September 2003, Regal Entertainment Group adopted the Coin-Operated Video Game Parental Advisory System as the basis for determining the appropriate content of coin-op games for placement in its theaters. The group operates Regal Cinemas, United Artists Theatres, Edwards Theatres, and Hoyts Cinemas.
- AMOA and AAMA are co-owners of the new Amusement Expo, scheduled annually in the spring. The 2013 Amusement Expo is set for March 20-22 in Las Vegas at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
- AMOA and AAMA work together on other programs of shared interest, including Location Trade Shows, Industry Standardization and semi-annual visits to legislators in Washington, DC.
