Bank Account Closure Issue

Although the Department of Justice (DOJ) rescinded Operation Choke Point back in August 2017, our industry continues to experience the closing down of bank accounts by banking institutions, particularly the large banks.

AMOA is committed to fighting this issue impacting our members.

We will continue our efforts from a multi-faceted approach which includes continued meetings with legislators in both the House and Senate; continued dialogue with regulatory agencies such as the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB); and conversations with the large banks themselves.

If you’ve been directly affected by this regulatory over-reach, we strongly suggest you follow the steps in the link below.  If you’re looking for any additional information or have any questions, we encourage you to contact the AMOA Headquarters at 815-893-6010.
