Get Involved - AMOA Legislative Actions

Register now - AMOA Members Only

On Wednesday, October 21 AMOA will be conducting a virtual Day on the Hill orchestrated by AMOA legislative firm Dentons. The day will consist of multiple visits, via Zoom, to congressional offices both on the House and Senate side. Topics to be addressed include:

1. Banking Issues
2. Payment Choice Act/Cash at Retail
3. Need for COVID relief

Members are invited to participate in the full day of meetings or jump in and out as your schedule allows…either is totally acceptable.

AMOA will be identifying key speakers for each office ahead of time, however, this is a great opportunity to show our elected government leaders just how important these issues are to AMOA members across the country when you listen in and participate. In fact, if you have never taken the opportunity to engage with your local/state leaders, this is a perfect primer that will demonstrate just how easy it can be.

Call to Action: Contact Your Legislators

As you are likely aware, Congress is currently embroiled in a partisan battle on whether or not to do a Phase IV COVID relief bill along with what should be included.

AMOA’s Legislative Team has been doing outreach to our champions on the Hill to let them know the stress of this gridlock, and especially the needs of our industry, but now we need your help.

While Congress is back at home waiting on an agreement, now is an opportune time to reach out to your local Representative and Senator. Tell them that we need their support and share the impact this legislative impasse is having on your local business.

When relaying your message remember to tell them who you are, where you are located and how your small business is being impacted.

Here is a link to find a list of your local representatives.

House of Representatives You can call and leave a message for the Congressperson or send an email to the address listed in the Contact Me section of their website.

Let’s put the pressure on our local representatives in advance of the November election and tell them that we cannot wait for Congress to continue this gridlock, and we want action now!
